it's too cold for angels to fly
Hello all, I'm Yumi owo. I'm huge fan of Magi and Supernatural. I'm also a fan of Homestuck. I have an unhealthy obsession with Judal and cry over my OTPs.

HumanStuck AU in which Calliope has acute leukaemia, and Roxy volunteers to help with younger patients. Or something along those lines.

I’m on a major homestuck trip right now, so to all those followers who know nothing about homestuck - I am really sorry. I’m not sure how long it will be till I move on from this phase. Possibly never.Anyway yes sickstuck? Cancerstuck? Hospitalstuck. Idk.

oh bless
i really want to write this now

just imagine roxy trying to READ though. but this is really really cute ;- ;

I can see the way she talks being a speech impediment rather a drinking thing. And Calliope is helping her to get over by asking her to read to her when she volunteers, and Roxy thinks its just because Calliope wants the company. And Roxy keeps trying to convince Calli that just because she’s sick that doesn’t mean she isn’t beautiful.
And as they get closer Calli just get’s sicker and sicker and Roxy slowly get’s over her speech impediment until she gets a call from the nurses late one night and tell her it’s time (because Calli doesn’t have any family other than an asshat brother who never comes to see her.)
And she just holds Calli’s hand and reads one of her favorite princess story (sleeping beauty or snow white) until Calli asks her if she falls asleep will a prince come and wake her up and Roxy tells her someone would have to be blind not to kiss awake someone as beautiful as her and Calli just smiles and closes her eyes and Roxy knows she’s gone but she won’t leave or let go of her hand until the nurses force her to so the doctor could take her away.

I HAVEN’T EVEN GOTTEN TO THE PART WITH CALLIOPE BUT THAT MADE ME CRY! I’M LIKE SOBBING ALL OVER MY SHEETs

gomen I tried but I’m bad at writing.
I had been volunteering at the local childrens’ hospital every Saturday for as long as I could remember. One day, I visited a certain patient. She looked so helpless. Just laying there, breathing slowly, not really moving. The first day I entered her room, I saw her face lighten up a little. She was really pale, had not a hair on her head. She had the most beautiful pair of green eyes. She was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen.
Luchemia has always been a disease that I found horribly painful to witness. Seeing people bed-ridden like that has always made me feel so… Down. The beautiful girl had Luchemia; she was miserable. But she always pulled a smile on her face, genuine or not I do not know.
We talked all the time; about her family, her life, and her fantasies. She was a completely normal girl; she had an annoying older brother (who I had never seen visit), a part-time job, a typical school life… And a strong love for fairy tales. She dreamt of being swept off her feet by a handsome prince. She just wanted to be a princess. To feel loved; to be wanted.
Calliope was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. She was a real life princess, though her frilly flowing gown was replaced with an uncomfortable hospital gown without a back. She was a princess. She was my princess.
My visits became more frequent. Up to four times a week, I had come to visit her, and we’d talk, and I’d read fairy tale books to her until she fell asleep. I would hold her hand for a few minutes, and then I’d leave.
One day, my speech impediment came up in conversation, and she had observed that it had faded slightly. She told me it must have been because I had read to her so much. it made me smile.
The second I’d walk into her room, I had told her, “You look beautiful today” and she’d laugh a little, but insist that she was the least beautiful girl in the world. I couldn’t shake her; she’d always deny it. Every time I got up to leave, Calli laying fast asleep, I’d kiss her forehead and tell her she’s beautiful. One day, I’d hoped I’d get through to her.
Weeks passed, and Calliope had shown no sign of improvement. With each day, she grew weaker. Her voice got quieter, her body grew tired. My visits became daily.
One night, while I was at home, I received a phone call from the hospital. Time was running short, and they were unable to contact her brother. They insisted that I came to the hospital as soon as possible. Immediately, I was on my bike, riding like her life depended on it. Because, as much as I hated to think, it was.
The entire night, I stayed at her bedside and read her favourite story, Sleeping Beauty, to her. There was a long silence upon finishing the book, and she gazed blankly into my eyes. Those beautiful, sparkling emeralds had dimmed to a flat, hopeless tone. She smiled a little tiredly and mumbled, “Roxy? If I fall asleep, will a prince come to wake me?”
I felt myself begin to tremble as I removed my hands from the spine of the book and I wrapped them around hers. I smiled and told her, “Any prince would travel across the world just to kiss you awake.”
She smiled weakly and slowly let her eyelids drop. Her features softened and the light grip on my hands released. I knew she had left me. But still, I sat in that same spot for hours. Staring at her softened features of her now limp and cold body, I could only think one thing.
Calliope was the most beautiful girl in the world.
